ACE hotelli avaa ovensa New Orleansissa sopivasti ennen jazz festivaaleja

20.01.2016

The Ace Hotel New Orleans is officially taking reservations for bookings beginning March 14. Medium rooms, which have either a king or queen-sized bed, begin at $189 per night, while "double doubles" (two double beds each, great for families) begin at $209. The hotel is also offering special rates forJazz Fest, which goes from April 22-May 1 this year: Suites run $899 per night and come with turntables and acoustic guitars if you want to make your own music, while medium rooms are a deal at $169.

Ace Hotels, the uber-cool brand best known for their lobby hangouts, put its New Orleans property in a 1920s Art Deco building on Carondelet Street, next to Lafayette Square. The building was formerly home to the Max Bennett Furniture Company. The Roman and Williams design firm worked on the Art Deco-inspired interiors. The Ace Hotel New Orleans has 234 rooms, a restaurant, a bar, and a rooftop swimming pool. Stumptown Coffee will also open its 10th store inside this Ace. (Ace already has Stumptown Coffees in their Portland and New York Hotels.)

Visitors have long flocked to New Orleans for the city's culinary and cocktail scenes, and of course, for themusic and Mardi Gras festivities. But now the hotel scene is inching into the spotlight, thanks to a handful of new boutique properties.

Recently The Old No. 77 Hotel and Chandlery opened in the former Ambassador Hotel building in the emerging Warehouse Arts District, offering modern rooms with rustic fixtures such as exposed brick walls. In January, Starwood Hotels and Resorts turned a dated W Hotel into a sophisticated Le Méridien on Poydras Street, serving coffee brewed by a master barista and a selection of eclairs. And last November, the design-forward European chain, AC Hotels by Marriott, made their U.S. debut in New Orleans just below the thoroughfare of Canal Street. Even Sir Richard Branson's Virgin Hotels brand has been looking for the perfect location in the Big Easy.
